Nepal is a developing country. In order to increase the pace of development the Government of Nepal took a decision in 1993 to promote medical education and health care in relatively remote and underdeveloped area of Nepal. As a part of that program permission was granted to Lord Buddha Educational Academy (LBEA) , Nepal to start a Medical College in a rural set up near Nepalgunj, a town in the midwestern region of Nepal only 6 K.M. away from the Nepal- India Border. The
project was undertaken and it was decided to name the college decided to

The Basic Medical Sciences Campus is Located at Chisapani, Banke . The Campus is located in a sprawling 60 acres of land ,completely self contained complex , with its water supply , electricity generators and housing facilities: the set up is totally residential for teachers and students. All together there are seven laboratories in the subjects of Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry , Microbiology, Pathology, Pharmacology and Community Medicine along with Anatomy Museum, pathology Museum, Mortuary for storage of dead bodies, Multi Media Laboratory Examination Hall and lecture theaters and the Library. These facilities are used for the integrated system based thatching of all seven subjects during the first tow years of the course as per the Curriculum of Kathmandu University.
